Who I am

I'm Sander, a 35-year-old Dutch Full Stack AI Engineer living in Amsterdam with my wife Mara and our two cats, Julie and Ori.

What I do

I ship agentic workflows with Convex as the central nervous system. Real-time mutations, RAG pipelines and context-aware systems that replace legacy polling architectures.

Currently building for Frasers Group UK (via Lab Digital), MR MARVIS and other companies that need intelligent automation without the corporate bloat.

My core tools: Convex, Next.js, Vercel AI SDK, Better Auth, Autumn. I build transparent systems that democratize access to AI: no gatekeeping, no fluff.

This site runs on Next.js, ShadCN, Tailwind 4 and these blogsposts are written in MDX. It's a starting point. More showcases coming as I document what I'm actually building.

Beyond the code

When I'm not shipping systems, you'll find me in the kitchen experimenting with recipes (I love cooking and eating, maybe too much). To balance it out: calisthenics and running. Currently chasing a muscle up and handstand. Progress is slow but honest.

I also enjoy traveling around the Netherlands and Europe (occasionally beyond), doing pub quizzes with friends and watching movies and series with Mara.

What you'll find here

Insights on Gen AI engineering, agentic system architecture and lessons from building production systems. Practical posts, honest reflections and the occasional story about things that broke in production.

Expect talk about Convex patterns, RAG pipeline design, real-time architectures and how to build intelligent automation that actually works.
