Who I am

I'm Sander, a 35-year-old Dutch full-stack AI engineer living in Amsterdam with my wife Mara and our two cats, Julie and Ori.

What I do

I ship agentic workflows with Convex as the thing that holds state. Real-time mutations, RAG pipelines, and systems that used to poll until someone got bored.

Currently building for Frasers Group UK (via Lab Digital), MR MARVIS, and other companies that need automation without a 40-slide deck first.

Day-to-day tools: Convex, Next.js, Vercel AI SDK, Better Auth, Autumn. I like systems you can actually read.

This site runs on Next.js, shadcn/ui, and Tailwind 4. The posts are MDX. More showcases as I document what I am actually shipping.

Beyond the code

When I am not shipping, I am usually in the kitchen (I love cooking and eating, maybe too much). To balance it: calisthenics and running. Currently chasing a muscle-up and a handstand. Progress is slow.

I also travel around the Netherlands and Europe (occasionally beyond), do pub quizzes with friends, and watch movies and series with Mara.
